Earthquakes occur daily around the world, causing thousands of deaths and billions of dollars in damage annually.

 Primary (or ?P?) waves are vertical ground movements that give warning of an imminent dangerous earthquake. QuakeAlert^TM (QuakeGuard^TM in the USA) is a scientifically proven, laboratory and field tested earthquake sensor/alarm that detects vertical ground movements at the onset of an earthquake.

 The QuakeAlert^TM home unit will give consumers and their families precious time to react and head for safety before the arrival of the more destructive shear (?S?) and Rayleigh (?R?) waves. The alarm is extremely accurate and will activate only when a vertical displacement above a predetermined level occurs.

 QuakeAlert^TM is a 5 cm x 18 cm x 4.5 cm, high tech, 9 volt battery operated seismological instrument in an attractive anodized aluminum case. It includes an electronic test/reset, low battery warning and a variable sensitivity control. Quake Alert functions on the generally accepted scientific principle of the first arrival waves. Introduced to over 20 countries to date. Developed with assistance from the National Research Council of Canada and the University of British Columbia.
